Paying attention to the financial needs of our customers is priority #1. That’s why we want to inform you about an upcoming change in our courtesy overdraft service, Protection Plus. This change will affect your account when there is an overdraft caused by an ATM or everyday check card transaction. Currently, Protection Plus provides a safety net in the event there are not enough funds in your account at the time of a check clearing, ACH, bill payment, an ATM withdrawal or check card purchase. Continental Bank may authorize and pay the overdrafts.
A new regulation will go into effect on August 15, 2010 that prevents us from continuing to provide you with this service for your ATM and everyday check card transactions unless you provide us permission to do so. No other transaction types are affected by this change. If we do not hear from you prior to August 15th, these ATM and everyday check card transactions will be declined when you do not have enough money in your account.
If you would like to continue this part of the Protection Plus service uninterrupted, please call 800-705-5500 or click here to complete the necessary form. If you have more than one checking account, you will need to provide us permission on each account.
If we do not receive your decision to continue the service prior to August 15, 2010, we will be required to decline overdraft transactions for ATM and everyday check card transactions if there are insufficient funds in your account. Please take action right now to avoid the loss of this service.
