We understand that switching your checking account can sometimes be overwhelming. That is why we want to provide you with everything you need to make the process simple and painless. We provide you with 2 options to easily switch your account(s).
Step 2: Complete the Additional Account Information Form below and fax or bring it to any Continental Bank branch office. By filling out this form, you will provide us with information on any automatic payments and direct deposit you want switched, as well as any bank account(s) at other financial institutions you want closed. We will prepare the notices for you to sign and we’ll take care of the rest.
Option 2 – Download the forms needed to simply switch your checking account:
Step 1: Open a Continental Bank Checking Account. In order to proceed you will need to know your new account number and the Bank’s Routing number. Your account number will be provided to you by a Continental Bank representative. The bank’s Routing Number is 031976200.
Step 2: Change your direct deposit information – the quickest way to sign-up or change your direct deposit is to submit a form to your employer. We’ve provided the form below. For direct deposit of social security you can call 1-800-772-1213.
Step 3: Change your automatic payments – you need to inform any company that you have current automatic payment(s) setup that you have switched banks. Some allow you to do it over the phone, but others will request a letter in writing. We’ve provided you with the letter below.
Step 4: Close your old account - once all of your checks and automatic payments have cleared, you need to close your old account. Use the form below to close your old bank account(s) and have the remainder of your balance(s) sent to Continental Bank.
